George C. Scott is my second favorite. An excellent performance indeed. Kept expecting him to say something about running through those spirits like "crap through a goose", but he was excellent. And that is an excellent version.

Yesterday, I came across a picture of the Christmas-wreathed tombstones at Arlington National Cemetary - http://freedomfolks.blogspot.com...-
arlington.html - and then later (by chance?) discovered a copy of your 2005 Memorial Day address that I had saved on my computer. It struck me that a common theme between that talk and your musing on Dickens' Christmas Carol is the redemptive power of giving. It's something that we can't be reminded of too often. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for that. And Merry Christmas.
