Great point. To the politicos ... he's posturing. He's just telling the enemy to get ready. It's hilarious. They don't believe it, b/c they would lie ... and thus, there's an element of surprise. Real life is often better than the books.
I didn't like GW at first, but he's gained my respect and admiration over the past four years. I believed that going into Iraq was something we had to do, even though the knowledge that many would perish broke my heart. Now the Iraqi people have gained my respect and admiration. Their courage in the face of such terrible danger puts most of us to shame.
This may sound a bit off but here goes:
I knew the day he was sworn in that we would be going back to Iraq to finish where his father left off. Seeing what I saw, and knowing what I knew due to the wonderful intel field it was a given that we'd be seeing baghdad sometime in the first or second four years. If 9/11 hadn't happened I truly believe that we'd be ramping up to invade today, after the second election. Maybe some of it was the "do better than daddy" complex, but there were 22 other reasons to invade Iraq on the charter to invade. I'd seen most of them before, when Clinton was in the hot seat. WMD just turned into a rallying cry.
Hey, DC, have you ever thought about trying to get any of this stuff published? You know, in like online papers, or real papers?

I know what you mean, and you may very well be right. I can see that ... and it bother me ... ah ... not one bit.
