Nice of you to decide who my "spiritual" leader is....
No and no and no. Yes, you're making fun of an old fat guy, but I am enraged that you suggest he is my spiritual leader in any way, politically or theologically.

It really worries me, DC, that you refer to him as any kind of spiritual leader. That is frightening, over the edge, whatever. I am sure there are Republican members of Congress who would, in private, vehemently disagree with you as well.

Julie ... deep breaths ... deep breaths ... Actually, Demos themselves have referred to Kennedy as such. Let's not be no rigid as to the term "spiritual", shall we? And ... yes, I am sure there are a number of Repubs who would object, too ... so, I must be right on the mark.

Julie ...
Don't sweat it ... I said the Republicans spiritual leader, not Christians. Man ... down, Fang.
But frankly, Kennedy does represent the spirit of the Democratic party. Not all Demos, any more the Pres. Bush represents all Repubs, but certainly a large slice.
Kennedy: Religion in name only ("Catholic") and living like hell. This is true.

God Almighty. That is funny funny funny.
Yes, dear one's, George Bush is a spiritual leader of sorts. One example among many from our past and our present. A spiritual leader in the way that one can view leadership and see that actions are often fueled by notions of right and wrong. Some public figures are apt to be considered as moral and as attempting to behave according to principles not derived from men but from God. President Bush is among many public figures that are open about their belief in God and in the correctness of behaving with respect to the principles of morality. Right and wrong concepts are borne of a belief in a godly power over life rather than a fear of discipline from a feudal master.
Comparisons of communist social structure and secular European and their willingness to destroy human life to the teaching that all human life is precious is a contrast that illustrates how alloyed the United States' government is with God. Not with a State religion, but with the concept of a Godly influence essential to the performance of one's duties. Leadership.
That some members of the US governemnt so blatantly flaunt their seven deadly sins is forgivable humor.

Actually, the image of "teddy" has inspired me to prayer:
"Oh lord, when I get up to his age please ton't let me look that fat and ugly. And if I do give me the common sense to wear a friggin' shirt!"

Okay class dismissed. Julie, please stay after ... Re: the death penalty, uh ... as I think you know, the Old Testament teaches that it is appropriate for murder, but nonetheless ... let's move on.
The key = innocent life. Convicted killers don't qualify.
But the real rule: If the EU does it, we ought to seriously consider the alternative position. Good for long-term cultural survival.
