Gravatar Glad to see you back. I was getting worried. And maybe the the utility people will be able to perform another miracle for those to the east of you. At first, where I live, they were saying that it would be at least a month before anyone got power on the Mississippi Coast. But they had restored power to all houses that could receive power by 9-11, just under 2 weeks after the storm.

Gravatar Thanks, Seawitch. Forgot you were one of those hearty souls in Mississippi. That's good to hear. Beaumont-Port Arthur are really slammed in this area. They are saying weeks. We will see. Mostly, we were very fortunate. It looks that even the refineries were mostly spared.

I feel terrible for the people of Southwestern La. Cameron is no more. The storm surge just wiped it out.

Gravatar glad to see you back on the net!

My brother, who lives in the 1960 area, was evacuated with the rest of the brain trust of his company to Austin. Took 'em 14 hours to get there. He was lucky, his co-workers who left later took 29 hours.

Regardless of the long lines and traffic, it's good to see Texans making the best of it.

I don't know if we'll ever know what impact Katrina had on the planning in place for Rita, but at least we Texians learned our lessons, unlike the goofball politicians in Louisiana who FUBAR'd the last evacuation order same time last year....

Gravatar C-Fish,

Right on, my man.

Gravatar Good to see you are safe and sound, Stay that way. Your family are in my prayers.

Gravatar Thanks, Michael. I have returned with fire in the belly, as you can see by the post above. Back in the saddle again.
