I was there. It wasn't a chair. It was a spindly vegetarian sophomore from UC Berkeley.

I knew there would be a GNN crew on the scene. But I think I scooped the master here.

Nope, not a GNN crew. But my cousin Rico was there selling Italian ice out of his cart. He's also our White House correspondant.
DC, when can we expect your opinion on Ronnie Earle?

That is classic. I wish they'd change her moniker from "peace" mom to dumb ass, but that's just me.

Nick,
How about a preview now? He's a partisan hack. Maybe I'll put something up next week touching on this, but suffice it to say, Earle is about as bad as they come in prosecutorial circles ...
Those who say he has picked on Demos only tell part of the story. He has selectively picked on Demos who were political opponents (i.e., gubernatorial candidates) of his Demo friends. Bad stuff for a prosecutor, whose duty is not merely to convict but to seek justice.

C-Fish,
We could go with Dumb Ass, but I think McCain copyrighted it. Hey, I just looked, and the 24 hours are up. Besides, how to you measure dumb in an ass, er donkey, er Demo?

This is the whole problem with these 'anti-war' protestors they are fake.
This was an Anti-America protest. If they were honest, and really had a cause, it would almost be understandable. If they had a disagreement with the President that would also be understandable. This would be a disagreement.
But to trash your own country, hope for your country to lose a war, this is treasonous and giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
Its too bad these traitors were not treated by the DC Police as comrade Hayden was treated by the Chicago Police during the '68 deficrat convention, I watched the whole thing and rooted for the Police, it was like watching the '85 Bears kick ass in the superbowl.
Now that, that sheehan twit has called McCain a 'Warmonger' (?) This is too much. She must be off her medication again and is seeing the 'twirlies'.
I do not respect her or think she has a cause, and have nothing but pity for a wretch who is a control freak and was so bad at it, that she has now lost her whole family and is now trying to blame her personal failures, ineptness and frustration on the President and the foreign policy of the country, by doing this she has now found some fellow travellers for her 'cause celeb' or did they find her. What it amounts to is, this is a bunch of lifes' losers and failures banning together to in an attempt to establish for themselves some smidgeon of credibility which they have never had and in the meantime the country that permits these protests is the target of their hate.

Mark raises an interesting point. Those of us who remember the '68 convention also remember that it was the Democratic Convention. Not the Republican Convention.
The protest was the usual aggregation of misfits of the era (with a few normal folks), but there was a clear attempt to put the Democratic Party on notice that certain things (centrally, the Vietnam War)were unacceptable to the organisms squirming in the lefty mud puddle outside.
The war was, in fact, only a rallying point; never the real issue. Then as now, as Mark said, it was more about anti-Americanism.
It wasn't Republicans pounding heads in Grant Park, it was Daley's gruesome Democratic political machine that wanted to "maintain disorder" in the streets for his Donk masters. The Donks ought to look back to '68 for a preview of their 2008 Convention. It won't be VC flags this time around, but the crazies will be just as crazy.

PS:
Sheehan's observation about McCain (a "warmonger") is priceless. It turns the MSM's mythology of McCain completely upside down, and mocks the whole McCain celebrity system built by Chris Matthews and others. What are they going to do now?

Mark and Rhod, great stuff as usual. And you are both dead on. We need to sing it from the mountain tops -- this bunch is anti-American. Period. I told my office administrator this the other day and she just went blank. She is a nice, uniformed Demo. She just said, "Protesting is American." I told her ... take a look at who was out there. They support the "resistance" in Iraq, Kim Jong Il, Castro, etc. Communists ... anarchists. The dregs. And ... and ... oh yes ... an elected Democrat. That crazy woman McKinney. If I had been there I am afraid I might have been arrested.
