Wow, DC you guys don't cut the Aggies any slack. Just because their collective IQ's is not as high as a Turnip, is no reason to bash these wizzards of the world.
Here in Ohio, we have the 'Buckeyes', they can match your Aggies, in Collective IQ any day.
To prove it here is a true story.
There is a Duck pond on Campus, OSU and some bright jock and his pals decided to pull a practical joke. So they went out and bought a truck load (pick-up)of 'Tide' laundry detergent, and proceeded to dump the Detergent into the Duck pond.
What they had hoped for worked, half of the Ducks drowned. The Tide washed off the protective coating from the Ducks under belly and they started to sink.
The next morning there were dead Ducks everywhere.
This has not been topped as far as I can tell.

Maybe if we hose down Teddy Kennedy and Barbara Boxer with detergent, they'll sink to the bottom too.

Rhod:
Probably work for Boxer, but Teddy has a natural bouyancy, he'd just blow his tanks and float to the top.
Afterall the big chunks are usually the ones to float to the top.

DT,
You are so right, my man. And as we know, really good stuff requires an element of truth. And there is an element of truth to ... "Aggies are stupid."

O Yeah, well they know about them farm animals.
Seriously though, didn't the Aggies always have a huge 'bon-fire' the week of homecoming ?
I read somewhere, that, the tradition started about 100 years ago, and it kept getting bigger and bigger. Finally they had the Engineering Department help with the design and structure of the thing. the Final product was about 70 feet high. In order to finish it they needed scaffolding and right before they finished the whole thing collapsed killing a few people.
Since then the bon-fire has been cancelled. Was this the Aggies or someone other school. ?

That was the Aggies, my friend. And ... they used to build it before playing hated "tu" ... or Texas.

See? This is what happens when we let our prejudice trump facts. These people had a perfectly good reason for doing what seems completely idiotic to the casual observer. In fact, here's what happened (the full story: http://www.theeagle.com/stories/...051001004.php):
"The shop's windows will not support the weight of plywood screwed into the frames. Neither is there sufficient masonry wall surrounding them for an attachment.
Therefore, the shop's contractor and all-around handy man (who also happens to be an Aggie) suggested mounting the boards inside. Doing so might sacrifice the easily replaced glass to the storm but could save the store from a major cleanup, the thinking went." By the way, what's an Aggie martini? A Pearl with a booger in it.

I don't agree with their strategy. They could have firred around the outside or the frame of the windows and mounted the plywood. That awning should have come down too.
But hindsight is 20/20

Sounds like the Aggies are trying to defend their engineering prowess in the same way that Pres. Bush is defending Harriet Miers. Trust me ... it works, and there was no alternative.
