Blogfather goes to meet Blogmom:
Scene 1- a lane by the wall of (****)'s orchard. Enter DC.
"Can I go forward when my heart is here? Turn back?"
He climbs the wall, and leaps down within it.

You are going to absolutely ruin my reputation as a bitter right winger with my four readers, Julie. But ... I will indulge you on this day.

Never indulge a liberal, DC. (I said, liberal, Julie, not "lefty"). Before long you'll have beaded curtains everywhere, Jasmine incense burning at home, you'll be doing TM and sending cash to the Maharishi. I know. It happened to me.

Yeah, Rhod. But you circumnavigated. It's all good. It's not that you start out right, it's where you end up.

Interesting information about your background, Rhod. Somehow... I'm sure the incense was sandelwood. Can't picture you as a Jasmine kinda guy. But you seem to have recovered, so all to the good.
Poor DC. You ended up blogfather to JulieB. One could hope the adventure was worth the ending.
The Prologue is up, the adventure is in the works. Ahem.

Julie,
I send my crusty, right-wing readers to your site and you put up a nekked woman. Please.
Warning, all. She is making a little too merry and the lefty-envelope pusher in her is coming out.

JulieB:
Exactly, Julie. Sandalwood. Scenes from a mall head shop indeed.
I was very troubled many years ago, and took refuge in the white handkerchief forest for a while. (I'm sorry Mark, but I was Army, and well...we make big mistakes) I even majored in English before the war, before the hippy culture and at the tail end of the Beats. The things I could tell you.
When you've been as deep in hostile territory as I have, you never come back all the way. I'll admit it. I like you, and have done some recon on your blog, but it's an LP only. I don't give myself away.

Julie,
The old soldier is telling you that your site is a Listening Post. That's where they go to listen for the enemy. But at least he's not shootin'. And that's a good thing for Will, Charlie, et al.

Thanks, Rhod. You're welcome to come hang out any time. I haven't noticed you being burned in effigy lately... or at all, I don't think. And if you cruise the site (DC that woman isn't nekkid, she has clothes, or bits of them anyway) as an ex-English major, you'll un-appreciate my artistic butchering of poor Shakespeare.
What, DC, the right doesn't have an appreciation of, um, fine art? You ever check out the Pirate's Cove pin-up girls? They have less on them than my blogmother does. Not only that, but the bits of clothing they have are bits of the American flag.
I don't think you're as prissy a bunch as you like to put on...

Well, land sakes, Julie. I'm as prissy as the come, with shirt collars and cuffs like Orrin Hatch. Not really. I don't own a tie.
Oh no. Will gets a whackin' by JulieB. I don't think I could handle that. He's a miracle. He wrote all his great stuff in a very short period of time, and it's transcendant. I still can't understand it without sidenotes, but then I'm stupid.

It just came to me. Pearl Pureheart. Wasn't she the character always being tied to the tracks by Ashcan Harry? Mark will probably remember. (We're both in our mid- forties). Hereafter JulieB is Pearl Pureheart to me.

As I grind my axe here, I'm humming the Theme from the Adams Family. I've used up by entire quota of winsome pleasantries in only a couple of posts. Now it's back to normal.

OH MY!!!
I don't think so.... JulieB has never been rescued from the railroad tracks!!
I think she's tied a few victims there, though.
And just look what she did to Will! How upsetting. Bad poetry too.

I don't remember about Ashcan Harry, but pearl Pureheart sounds about right better yet will this help ?
"I got so bugged I turned it off and turned on another show.
But there was the same old shoot- em-up, and the same old rodeo.
Salty Sam was tryin' to stuff Sweet Sue in a burlap sack.
"If you don't give me the deed to your ranch I'll throw you on the railroad track!"
And then he grabbed her... (Help he grabbed me, help)
He tied her up... (Here we go again, tyin' me up)
He threw her on the railraod track,
The train started commin' (Ohhh! Here comes the train) "
and then and then Along came Jones.
