I recieved the same e-mail from CENTCOM. I sent a few suggestions on things I was having problems with at their site.
Can't wait for the Buchanen tome!

Hi DC thank you for the links. And thank you for letting us know about Goomba news. Just tying his name still makes my heart hurt, I will always miss him.
I got the same email from CENTCOM, I was so impressed by this. I have loved CENTCOM from the first day I found out about it. I answered them back too, and told them Congratulations and wished them well.
Thanks DC for such a great blog and all you do.

Seawitch and W-Thing,
Thank you both for all that you do, as well. I appreciate your blog friendship and your graciousness.
I think the CentCom efforts show, in a small way, why we in a free society always have a large structural advantage against totalitarians.
We have technological advantages, for sure. We have better equipment, etc. But ultimately we have young Americans rooting out the enemies of civilization. They are creative, adapatable, smart, no ingenious.
A totalitarian society produces myrmidons who will charge to their deaths, for sure (some will, at any rate). But I believe in Patton's dictum, that our goal is to help them do this.
Our troops are the best.

That's a good link, DC. Just as good, fascinating even, is Wretchard's speculation on the Israeli campaign against the Hezb'Democrats in Lebanon.
If he's correct, Israel and the IDF have launched one of the most spectacularly complex and inspired military operations ever.
We are, in any case, not getting any serious analysis from the superficial numbskulls in the MSM, so anything which digs deep is welcome.
I include Fox in this. The network, which was always slightly tabloid, is now not even up to pamphleteer. Shame.

By the way, Myrmidons sent me to the Websters. I read a good one on another blog. Democrats in the House were described as "myxomycetes". I think it was praise.

Rhod,
I agree with you re: Fox, although I think that Jennifer Griffin's and Mike Tobin's reporting is good. Still, you are right that they don't dig as deep as we'd like. Some of this is time constraints. There are other things, for sure.
Re: sending you to the dictionary, well, at least I am on the scoreboard. You have sent me there many, many times. Each trip has been worth it.
Okay, I will check out Wretchard.
