I had fleas in my apartment once and found a flea bomb to be highly effective. Is it possible to ant-bomb?

About 15 years ago, Terro used to contain arsenic and it worked fine in getting rid of ants. Then the oppressive federal government came along and banned it -- the usua knne jerk response when some stupid parent allowed their little kid to use it as an hors d'oeuvre. Without that main ingredient, the little boogers really chow down and seem to get bigger.

I've been dealing with an ant problem in my house. The little buggers are spreading throughout the OWS. Given the proximity to the bathroom, the ants in question are probably carpenter ants. While carpenter ants don't eat wood, they prefer to infest wood that is moist and rotting and is soft enough to allow them to hollow it out and produce a colony. Unfortunately, carpenter ants have a varied diet (insects, sweets, meat) and baits are not always successful. The only way you can really eliminate the infestation is by removing all the infested wood and fixing the contributing moisture problem.

Carpenter ants are big and black though, and these are neither. I'm assuming they're pavement ants because they look like pavement ants and they've been piling up dirt in places.

I don't know where the dirt would of come from inside your house, but you're right piles of dirt are an indication of pavement ants. A telltale sign of carpenter ants are piles of sawdust. Now if I can just use my knowledge of ants to get rid of the infestation in my house. Buggers.
