It is hard isn't? One doesn't wan't to feel like a jerk and a land grabber but then again not being able to park somewhat near to your door can be a royal pain.
I had a similar conflict when they were petitioning for the Residential Parking on the other side of the tracks from you.
Now I get to pay 40 bucks a year for the privilege of being thought a jerk and landgrabber.

That's just amazing. How does city planning figure this out? Never mind that some of these jackasses will likely have more than one car (not including that of their spouse). After all, you don't want to get the lexus covered in road salt, do you?
In my neighborhood ('burbs), I keep joking that these stupid realtors should just buy an entire block and put a damned apt. tower in. Of course, they'd price it out of the range of a normal home in this neighborhood.

This will make me sound like even more of a whiner but... depending on where they plop that nine-story building, it could potentially block sunlight from reaching my deck. That would also annoy me greatly. And the preservationist in me hates that they're going to knock down a cool old building to put up what will likely be another shitty-looking, modernistic pile of crap.

I was assuming they were going to put it where the abandoned house that used to have the bad dog is. Am I close?
I wish all new buildings were designed by the poeple who did the one on Maynard where the McDonalds was.
