2005 Deaf Blog Awards

I nominate Christine rosechart www.xanga.com/tactilejunkie wonderful wonderful!!

How about http://wonderingoutloud.blogspot.com ?

This blogger was legally blind, according to NIH criterions. Even though she is no longer with us (unfortunately), she still was a frequent blogger throughout the year, and I don't see anything wrong with an award being given posthumously.

I never knew Sarah Pack was legally blind.. true, R?

True, Christine. She had been losing her vision steadily over the last couple of years, and had just tunnel vision when she passed away. She saw specialists at N.I.H. who deemed her "legally blind"; I still have the e-mail from her confirming that. Check her older posts at www.xanga.com/wonderingoutloud

Gravatar That is true, Christine, she is legally blind. At first, she has Usher's Syndrome but in the last 8 months, her eyesight has dramatically decreased. I know because I was with her frequently and deal with her frustrations.

R-

Gravatar tactilejunkie, PERIOD.

Gravatar Tunnel vision can dramatically increase in a week, in a month or several years. I know this myself, I lost 15, count this, 15 degrees of central vision due to a month-long stay in the Philippines under the extremely hot, direct sun with an UV-less sunglasses. Stress can cause deteroriation, from what you've told me of Sarah, I can safely assume she has Usher's and her vision deteroiated rapidly because of the major, major stressors in her life and also the medicines can strip the retinal cells of the strength it needs. God knows, my smoking habits are making my eyes go fast because of the toxic chemicals that often flow in my bloodstream and waft into my eyes - harming my retinas both ways. I'll read her blog to find some relativity with a member of the Usher Club long gone. Thanks for informing me.... and I hope my comments have provided at least some clue as to what she had.
tactile love
