2005 Deaf Blog Awards

Gravatar a big one...

person who is conducting the poll should not also be a nominee.. this creates a tremendous conflict of interest.

Gravatar I intend not to let myself be involved in the next year's run -- just that this year, I gotta get everyone else involved. I'm having a couple of person looking at polls, though before I finalize the winners.

Gravatar I'd have to agree but then again, its kind of hard to find someone who knows how to do this kind of stuff who isn't a blogger themselves, ya know?

The other thing (for me anyway) is legitimacy.. its hard to call this "the defininitive BEST" when any other yahoo could do the same. If you could have it sponsored by a deaf organiztion, it would add legitimacy to the contest..

Gravatar It's interesting to see the deaf blogger host Deaf Blog Award website; and the host earn highest number of votes in 2 out of 2 categories.

Gravatar what can i do? i expect a hot contest -- people voted. i tried to advertise on my blogsite to encourage readers to vote.

that's why next year, i'm not going to be part of it. i'll just moderate it.

Gravatar May I suggest a few...?

Best Foreign Deaf Blog

Best Deaf Teenager's Blog

Best Design

...more to come

Gravatar It seems rather ironic that one of the categories for a "deaf" blog is an "eavesdropping" category.

Gravatar Could not resist attacking Deafies, Kender?

Gravatar Just pointing out an amusing irony, R. Not that I expect you to understand the meaning of "irony" or anything.

Gravatar Apparently you failed at that, Kender.

R-

Gravatar ricky. a closed mouth gathers no foot. and note yet another amusing irony here in this idiom.

Gravatar I CONCUR with email notificatioN! I am pissed now that two days after the polls closed, I JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS!
Tch-tch-tch... But now I know about it, I can be well-prepared for next year contest.
