This country now affords everyone the same rights and statistics show more mixed marriages, communities and schools. A large number of churches remain segregated because of preachers like Brother Wright. This country has come a long way since the 60's/70's rioting era in which I lived through and if people would quit over sensationalizing predjudice issues and hatred; eventually this country would become more diverse and accepting. Slavery was certainly a bad time and especially the way the slaves were brought to this country; but has anyone considered where a lot of the African Americans in this country would be if their ancestors would not have been brought to this country. Most would not be living because the life expectancy in Africa and other like countries is a lot lower than here in America. They would not have the freedom that they now enjoy nor the advanced civilization, healthcare or technology. Be thankful for your heritage; not bitter. Many blacks in this country have gotten themselves educated and have wonderful jobs like doctors, teachers, lawyers, business people highly paid sports figures and so on. We havn't got any room for people like this Rev Wright here, it's time for him to grow up or move on out!
I think you are right, regarding Obama. He's toast. I don't see this as something he can recover from because everyone will wonder just what kind of influence the "good Rev" had on him. You don't go to a church for 20 years, have him marry you and baptize your children and then say that you did not agree with him. I don't think so! Not happening. Well, maybe a few with the "race" blinders on, but they all can't be that naive, could they?
Oh, and I am an official DD2 pal. 
Ya know Jenn I agreed with you 100 percent BUT...I’m starting to believe that these stupid Democratic voters are just plain ignorant, and they allow things like this to be swept under the rug. I am starting to think that this is going to fly away. as fast as it came in.

What kills me is that Mitt Romney was roasted for simply BEING a Mormon. But O'Bamo just shrugs off the accusations of him being a Muslim by stating that he is a "Christian"
What can he possibly say that would change anyones mind?
I don't care what church or what race of people are attending, church is no place for hate and politics. Esp. someone that is running for the president od the United States... You would think he'd have more brains than to do that. But I guess he doesn't. How can anyone believe that he attended that church with his friend, his mentor and advisor pastor of said church and he never heard the Rev. preach hate or an anti-American sermon? I keep reading people saying Obama isn't responsible for what his preacher said. Obama is responsible for listening to such racist, hate filled sermons. He is responsible for exposing his children to such hate. Very bad decisions.

For me, nothing Obama says will undo the damage done by his close affiliation with Reverend Wright. Of course, he never had my vote anyway. I hope Americans by the millions will not keep believing his lies and see him for what he is, but then I remember Slick Willy's claim that he "never inhaled", and lest we forget "I never had sex with that woman." Not being a bleeding heart liberal myself, I find it hard sometimes to understand the inner workings of their pea-brains! About all I can say with no uncertainty is that we are very fortunate that being stupid is not illegal, or we would triple the national debt building prisons!
