Dude...socialized healthcare is a CROCK anyways. You get what you pay for, and that's NADA. No wonder all the Canadians come here for their care; Canada's healthcare system sucks. Why do wealthy people the world over come here for their procedures? Because the systems suck elsewhere.

These socialist, or worse Communist do not care what the remifications for this spending spree will be. Watch for Euthanasia to be forthcoming. No extensive medical care for persons over the age of 60 and whatever else they can do to insure survival of the fittest. Look at what finally came out of the justice that is making decisions on the Supreme Court. The argument against their want to raise taxes on the wealthy to pay for health care is not an argument to be made simply because we are in a recession DD.
Would it be any more just were we NOT in a recession? Hardly.
The proper argument against such a practice is that it is immoral to infer or suggest that raising taxes on a select portion of the population is a just practice.
It is antithetical to the concept of equal protection.
If it's okay to raise taxes on a select portion of the citizenry based on economic factors, would it not then be permissable to raise taxes on another portion of the citizenry based (dare I suggest) on racial boundaries?
Of course it is not.
To raise taxes to pay for health care in ANY economic environment is crazy.
