1. I read somewhere the suggestion that maybe Barry was indeed back, but that he was also the villain. Perhaps it's my inner twelve-year old, but I like that as a cheap twist. Given that DC's drink of choice is nostalgia and that they've been on a house-wrecking bender for years, I'm sure it's Barry. He may not survive "Final Crisis," but it's Barry. Whoop-de-crap.
2. I thought that Crow was supposed to be the more juvenile of the two, but it's been a decade since I've seen MST, so I'm not sure. All I know for certain is that Crow was the one in love with Kim Cattrall.

Servo is more like Ernie, while Crow is more like Bert?

1) It's TED KORD as the NEW FLASH*.
*BLUE FLASH? BLUE STREAK? I forget what name they were going with.
(its a secret. Don't tell anyone.)
2) Crow is a jerk (but a funny, friendly jerk). Tom Servo is an intelligent wise-ass.
3) Portishead (P3) = "SCRUMtrellescent!"
But then ALL Portishead is FAB!
(I've got 5 albums of theirs - 2 are special editions - and I love them beyond words.)

1. I like the Barry Allen as villain idea, though it immediately brings to mind Waid's "Return of Barry Allen" story and the whole Zero Hour thing, which was a big(ish) cosmic crisis that had not one, but two former heroes as villains. What would also be awesome would be finding out that only the death of a speedster can end a crisis, but that Barry came back to do it again because he didn't trust Wally not to totally screw it up. And that's when we (and Wally) learn that Barry Allen, the man Wally has been idolizing most of his life, has always hated his wife's annoying little nephew. Don't make Barry the villain, just have him be a dick.
2. Speaking of... Crow is a dick, Servo is just obnoxious.
3. I haven't heard it yet, but I am hoping it is both awesome and amazing.

It always struck me that Servo was a little more full of himself, while Crow was a tad more flighty. A lot of this might just be in the vocal characterizations...and after Bill Corbett took over the character in the Sci-Fi Channel era, Crow developed a slightly more sarcastic, bitter delivery.
It's hard not to attribute personalities to the 'bots after watching so many episodes, though. For example, once or twice Crow has exclaimed "kitties!" upon seeing lions or something similar on-screen. I can't imagine Servo saying something similar, as it seems out of character for him...so I must think that they have SOME character, whether intentionally scripted or just extensions of the puppeteers' personalities.
Well, that's something I didn't expect to be writing about tonight.

Servo was the honor-roll kid who could quote anything from Monty Python immediately; Crow was the smart but bored kid intent on carving "MY ASS" under every KISS logo he saw on the school's desks.

I seem to remember Crow being more afraid of movie torment, and I know Servo made more racy comments about the ladies than any other character.

I think i'd be a lot more excited about that Portishead album if it had come out about a year after their last one, which is when it was probably written and recorded. To think that they've been awol this long only to show up with the same old schtick? I'm un-impressed.
But i'm with you on the Roots--what happened guys? Maybe they should stop playing their own instruments.

I *really* like the new Portishead album, but I'm also a devout fanboy, so my opinion is a waste.
As for the Roots, I had no idea they had a new album out! What the Hell happened to those guys? They used to have both concerts and albums that caused tons of anticipation and excitement and now it's like, "Oh, the Roots? *yawn*" I've gone to more of their shows than I have fingers and toes and I stopped going to their concerts about 4 years ago because they just became awful. They had inconsistent line-ups, strange song selections, and looked about as enthused as someone watching a goat screw their mom.
