Gravatar I got pissed off watching NewsNet's report about the 4 soldier's deaths "raising questions about our mission" - the only ones raising the question that I've seen so far are the media. It's sad that it happened, and it will be sad when it happens again, but pulling out is not an option IMHO.

Gravatar The Taliban-Al Qaeda have openly stated that their agenda is to get rid of the Canadians by the simple act of targeting them, a few at a time.

They 'read' Canada as a country operating only by rhetoric, a rhetoric totally separated from action. Therefore, if Canada is confronted by actions, which move their empty rhetoric beyond the safety of 'only words' - Canada will swiftly withdraw its forces from Afghanistan.

Gravatar “What more proof does the left want?”

What the perverse left wants is for the West to lose. That’s because their ideology is a failure but they won’t admit it. Their only option now is to partner with other extremists who attack capitalist democracy.

We aren’t just fighting Islamofascists, the socialist enemy at home is very dangerous too because they have the propaganda machine of the MSM behind them, along with most of academia who are brainwashing our youth.

We could easily win militarily against these medieval women suppressors who want to impose a theocracy upon the world. But we need to fund the resources to win militarily.

Otherwise as ET says they’ll cause us to back out. That means we have to win the political propaganda war against the left here at home. We’ve only just begun that battle in Canada. Harper will have his hands full. Moreover, we need to hope that the US and the UK can continue to elect military hawks. The Coalition of the Willing needs to become a much more formal, unified organization if we are to win the propaganda war, which is a prerequisite to winning militarily.

Gravatar So?? Has the war at home, the propoganda or ideological war, been a win, draw, or loss, for the right so far.

Here is my take. A growing number of North Americans seem to be concerned about Islamism. Islamo-fascism is so over the top, that even the lazy CBC/CNN/BBC masses are beginning to read past the news. Only a fool wouldn't become concerned. The Muslim fanatics are in fact getting their message across; but not in the way they might think.

Gravatar DT, if you are saying the propaganda war is actually moving in the direction we want it to, I would agree, but at a snail’s pace which pace has always confounded me. There is a portion of the left that will never be convinced; unfortunately they have a big soapbox with the MSM and academia.

I think the insurgents in Iraq have lost. Iran knows that. Hence the new push by the Mullahs to get Bush to overreact and attack and cause the whole democracy thrust to backfire. Bush has more patience and brains than he’ll ever get credit for, he’s been “mis-underestimed”.
