I'm shocked: even with the obligatory condescension, a Beeb journalist wrote a reasonably fair, accurate article about US soldiers! (I just wonder if this journalist didn't just commit career suicide by not slamming the US troops, as the governing ethos of the Beeb would seem to make de rigeur.)
It's been said that if you put enough monkeys at enough typrewriters, eventually, by sheer numbers and random chance, one of them will write a Shakespearean work. In that context, I was also shocked a few months ago to actually find myself in agreement with something Jack Layton said. (Basking the Lieberals, in that case.) Put enough monkeys in front of a camera and microphone...

i think anyone that watches this report will be forever changed in seeing true-life examples of the danger these great men put themselves in all for our country. i personally know dorian perez and he is a very unique man: a modern-day philosopher, soldier to the core and a man of his word. he is an inspiration to any soldier out there and surely a mentor to his troops. to think that a soldier that great is willingly risking his life every minute he spends out there for our freedom really says a lot. i wish more folks out there would take time to thank our troops and realize these great men are putting everything on the line and usually w/ a smile in their heart...if not also on their face. true soldiers actually look at serving part in a mission like this as an opportunity and too many of them don't make it back. dorian, if you are reading this by some miracle, please keep safe and know that there are plenty of us out here who admire and have great respect for what you're doing! bless you and your men! take care and come home safe!!
