Well said!! I think your description of Robert Fife's news report as a " dangerous manipulation of democracy" is right on.
I feel the MSM has been demonstrating this manipulation since their beloved Liberals lost the election.
Yesterday on MDL Jane Taber told us she does not believe a person can change after the age of 40. If this is true then alot of the National Press Gallery will continue to dangerously manipulate democracy because they are too old to change!!
I never really liked Fife's "tone".

It's sad in nation where if you're liberal [including the MSM] you can virtually get away with almost anything but if you're conservative they want to crucify you for something years ago.
Hypocrisy at it's highest. Where's the MSM concerning the invasion of a person's privacy? Why aren't they asking questions about why the provincial NDP was snooping instead of returning property that belongs to someone else? That tape was not meant for public consumption. If the tables were turned and conservatives found a tape that had something offensive on it made by a Liberal or NDP, the outrage would be one of invading someone's privacy. Shame on the MSM for making a mountain out of a mole hill.

This is a wonderful written article and I think you should forward it to CTV. Robert Fife has been condeming the conservative party since they were elected. I wrote the CTV news people at christmas when he critized the Prime Minsiter after his Christmas message... He said on National Coverage ..... blah. blah..blah... quoting the Prime Minster. Should a reporter refer to the Prime Minister's message as Blah. Blah...blah... Please forward it on... if we as citizens do nothing about this, it will continue. This is a conservative blog...CTV will never read this and it is so acurate!

I am outraged at Robert Fife's recent on air remarks. He referred to conservatives as "knuckle-draggers".
He also spoke in a very derisive manner about social conservatives.
This isn't journalism. It is open shilling in favor the opposition.
Now, since your news service has proven it is completely unworthy of any trust then there is no point in
trusting that you will take ANY action at disciplining Mr. Fife. You simply won't.
So what I intend to do is write letters to your various advertisers, making them aware of the issue.
Since they, by paying you advertising dollars have acted with tacit
compliance to this behavior they will be held responsible. They will be held responsible since its obvious you are incapable
of acting responsibly yourselves.
After writing these letters I will post copies of these letters (as well as this one) on the internet in the comments section of various
conservative "blogs" with the appropriate links. These blogs have already expressed similar outrage at Fife's comments.
Then I will e-mail links to these comments so the advertisers themselves can see for themselves that the issue is getting internet play.
Hopefully your advertisers will be more considerate to social conservatives then Fife or Robertson.

To say that my husband and I are outraged is an understatement.
Robert Fife, in one fell swoop by denigrating members of the Conservative party, has shown himself to be a bigot.
He not only vilified the Conservative govt., but he also denigrated Conservative voters who elected these so-called "Knuckle Draggers".
Are we "Knuckle Draggers" Mr. Fife?
Does he also intend to identify the "other Knuckle Draggers" in the Liberal party?
Our opinion of Mr. Fife is that he is no longer a credible news reporter.
Why?
Because he is spewing hatred towards a group of people.
I also wrote to CTV and told them basically the same thing... I was outraged about this issue and this is what we have to do.... They will do nothing about it at all if we don't. To allow Robert to continue this line of reporting, has to be stopped. The reporting industry is full of people exactly like Robert. Gloria Galloway husband is Dion's chief stragtist, and do you think every time she gets on Mike Duffy Live to report on the Conservatives she is not liberal bias. I wrote Mike and told him, why not get Mrs. Harper to report on dion... it would be the same thing!. Wonderful letter written... let's not let this issue die!

Iam writing to express my DISGUST at your smear comment that the conservative party is full of knuckledraggers. This is the party I and a good many other Canadians support. For you to insinuate that somehow we are "less" than is wrong. Today there are many comments being brought forward made by members of the Liberal party against gays - why is it just the Conservative party that you focus on.
I expect nothing less than an apology and if you are so gung ho for Tom to resign for something he said privately 16 years ago then you should also resign for smearing a whole facet of the Canadian public.
I have also complained to CTV and to the CRTC about this comment. I find the bias of CTV towards the conservative party to be becoming more and more blatant.
Hopefully you realize the hypocrasy of complaining about smears against a group of people and then turning around and smearing another group of people.

CTV would roast Lukiwski at the stake, but quietly cover Fife's ass in the hopes nobody will notice.

Actually, I just listened to the CTV report of the National and the offending "knuckledraggers" is still there so I guess we better not jump the gun on letter writing
I really feel we have to write CTV instead of Bob Fife....What would he do about it... try and cover it up. We have to contact his boss.... or bosses..... after all, he is Chief Reporter.... and to have someone in that position who has such "hate" towards the Government, making reports on our news, slanting all reports towards his liberals, is extremely unfair..... - for the sake of CTV... he has to go!..... He is directly found guilty of doing exactly what he wants Lukiwski "fired" for.... calling a group of people inappropriate names.... We have to keep on this!....
I also think we should all email Mike Duffy. Let him know how we feel about Fife. Let him know if Fife continues to be a guest on his show that we will stop watching. I'm sure his advertisers won't be pleased.
Duffy does read emails sent to him, so I'm sure he'll pass our displeasure onto fife.
Now why would you buy into the ludicrous claim that "the news" EVER delivered the news "free and uncluttered from bias". (And why do you suppose such a thing is possible?)
A reporter's, (or a news corporation's) world view will inevitably affect their reporting, if only in the choice of what they report on. (Do you call them "insurgents" or "terrorists"? In either case are you spinning the news or just calling a spade a spade?)
Feel free to criticize Mr. Fife as to the contents of his reporting or the nature of his world view, but don't falsely pretend that the news is ever going to be "free and uncluttered from bias" and claim that Mr. Fife has somehow failed as a journalist because he failed to do the impossible.
