When Imagine by Lennon came out in the early 70s I was about 12 or 13 years old, I was ignorant of concepts such as socialism or even what left and right in politics meant, but I felt the lyrics of the song were a bit naive or even a bit dumb.
"Imagine no possessions" to me was like trying to imagine even the clothes on my back
- or my underwear for that matter! - were not mine!
what an absurd idea.
Yes a bit of a dumb song but a nice melody to have my first slow dance with a cute girl to!
ahhh to be young again...
