Will someone please explain why this bloodless transfer of power to the civilian legislator first in line for the presidency, in a sovereign nation, is any business of the United Nations, the Organization of American States, Hugo Chavez, the Castro brothers or Barack Obama?
1 - first in line? Someone is in the presidency first, already, before hand, elected.
That is first in line. It is the second in line you speak of and I am going way out on a limp(pun) to give credence to that claim of yours.
2 - Illegal referendum? Are you faking kidding me?
3 - Hands off? Making a denouncement is not 'hands on'. You got problems with understanding well established english usage?
4 - GET THIS! President Manuel Zelaya was ELECTED.
Kill Tomorrow
First in line, you types kill me ;)

President Manuel Zelaya is not following the constitutional system his country has set up ... he is in violation of that constitution. What's so hard to figure out. Democracy depend on the rule of law being applied ... he's moved outside the rule of law.
Imagine mikmik, what'd you'd have to say if, for example, Canada's PM Harper decided to ignore Canada's constitution and parliamentary traditions and "make it up" as he goes, going as far as to defy supreme court orders forbidding him to take certian actions.
It's one thing to push the outer limits of what is constitutional, another to defy that constitution and ignore court orders. (unless you're a leftist I suppose)
mikmik, your type kills me.
Have a wonderful July 4th.

Well Paul, if the guy is ignoring the constitution, it seemms to me that you take him to court and have the law enforced, not illegally over throw the government.
Seems to me that Harper has beenn playing very fast and loose with laws here as well, running away from a non-conf vote last year,... calling an election in violation of his own election,...
and were you not one of those blogging tories that screamed about coup-da-ta just a few months ago and about how bad that was,...

Zorph: ... where is Buchanan's piece factually wrong?
As well, please specify where Harper has broken the law.
By the way, have a wonderful 4th of July and be sure to read the alternative view I posted in the update.
