America is a single party system with 2 factions, has been since Barry Goldwater and Carroll Quigley deliniated it as such in the late sixties. Never has this been more evident than in the last 2 presidential races. Canada is little different except we have the choice between 3 speeds of socialism.
Partisan/ideological loyalties are distractions for useful idiots, it's not about left and right in the era of the expanding super state...it's about "us" and "them". Univocal statism vs the individual.
