Have you ever seen a bully at a school yard-he or she seem to be surrounded with their henchmen yet when you confront the bully alone and question him or her-they cowar before you and are always blaming others for their bully's very own disruption.
This sounds to me like the LPOC, COWARDS, alwaya blaming others, can't even answer questions without putting the blame on other people.
Thanks for posting those two very sensible essays; what a contrast between those and the shrill diatribes typical of the lefties.
Both articles address the potential for a restructuring of the political battle-lines, with the professional-career-elite-politician on one side and the common-sense-citizen-legislator on the other. I believe this alignment is still possible in the USA where the members of Congress, and the voters for that matter, are not as tribally affiliated with their parties as they are in Canada.
For example, many observers of the “Tea Parties” reported Republican and Democratic attendees joining together in support of a common cause, in this case a respect for the constitution and founding American cultural values. So, one can hope that the mid-term elections will produce a Congress that is committed to saving the USA from this rogue administration, notwithstanding party affiliation.
I wish I could express the same optimism for Canada and our culture.
I'm no fan of Palin but the articles touch upon a point I've been making for years.
The Dems and most everyone else on the left dismiss Palin because she's rural, middle class, didn't go to an Ivy league school, comes from Alaska etc. In other words, she's from middle America. The folks in "fly-over" country have more in common with her than Obama. She's a populist. The Dems, don't connect with middle America. They won this election, but only because things were so bad change was inevitable.
The contempt the pundits and political/cultural elites on the left have for Palin and middle America is palpable, and this arrogance may cause Obama problems in 2012.
