Gravatar Okay, that was worth staying up for. NOW, I'm going to bed.

USCCB translation: "Don't vote for Rick."
LMAO!

Gravatar I don’t want to get melodramatic or anything, but if I don’t win in at least one category in the Catholic Blog Awards I will be switching over to cat blogging. No offense to the cat bloggers now, no offense.

Gravatar Gee, Tom. I'd sure hate to see that happen. That is why I am going to put all of my effort into helping you get that Most Bizarre Blog Post spot.

On the other hand, I've had blog-contact with a few cat bloggers and they were very nice people. Even the pope has done his share of cat blogging, so it can't be all bad.

In all seriousness though, I have to say that while I'm not personally a fan of three column blog designs. I think the Donegal Express is one of the nicest designed blogs around. The graphics, theme and colors look great. Of course, those kind but genuine words don't do a darn thing for you now, but at least you're getting some recognition for it.

Good luck, sir.

Gravatar And the ICEL translation of the above text was:

"Brothers and sisters in the name of the Creator, Redeemer, and Santifier don't vote for Rick because of his male name."

He who seeks the last place will be raised to the first.

By the way Rick stop teasing me by blogging - I only want more.

Gravatar LOL, Jeff. Sure looks like the handiwork of ICEL to me.

The shameful amount of time I put into that post proves to me that I "have a problem." I wonder if there is a 12 step program for recovering bloggers. On second thought, I'd rather check into the 12 step program for recovering lesbian cheerleaders.

Anyway, thank you... for everything. I sincerely believe you are worthy of every accolade...just don't let it go to your head.

Gravatar And the Radical Feminist Lesbian Nuns all say Don't vote for Rick

It will only encourage him.

Gravatar Actually, you might be amused to hear in re ICEL and translation, that I originally thought of writing "sons and daughters of St. Blogs" but since filius and filia have identical plural ablative forms "filiis". So "sons and daughters" would be "filliis et filiis" which doesn't make any sense.

Which is why (in addition to the fact it's gramatically correct) scripture and liturgy use "sons" in the plural to indicate both men and women in the generic sense.

Someone send ICEL a memo, eh?

Gravatar So Rick ... maybe just a blog post once a week?

I'm like Jeff ... I WANT MORE!!!!!!!

Gravatar Rick I've got a post staring you commin gup in a few minutes

Gravatar Well Darwin...I'm just glad had a resource like you. If it were done by me it would have read "Votum forum Rickum Dorkum." Oh wait...that would be being constant with the gender or whatever it is.

Votum Foram Rickum Dorkam would be in keeping with my style.

Gravatar Julie, that's tempting, but just this one post kept me from my duties (beyond just being a modest R&R time). FWIW, it really is a form of penance to not blog...so that's a good thing.

FD...I'll keep an eye out for it. Thanks.

Gravatar Welcome back...!!!

You forgot one thing... "...in this the first year of Our Pontificate..."

Otherwise, typical Rick goodness, and PLEASE keep it up...

I might add that I have voted for you, and so has Scarlette (that sweet thing!).

Hope Rhonda and yourself are okay. Take care, God Bless, and PLEASE return to blogging, as the Angel implied you must do...

Every Blessing...

Gravatar Yeah Rick, you are the cowbell of St. Blogs.

More Cowbell!

Gravatar Hey hey Jack. How ya been? Thanks for votes, I figured you were helping out. And I appreciate it.

What can I say about the omission other than I suck? As long as nobody expects much from, I won't disappoint.

We're doing good here. Quite busy, but still hanging out in the blogosphere (a bit too much for my own good).

Drop me a line in the next few days...or I'll drop you one.

Thanks again and God bless.

Gravatar Wow, thanks Brother Tom. Did you have to read "More cowbell" from a cue card like Christopher Walken did?

Gravatar can non-catholics vote?

also, is there a category for best non-catholic non-christian blog by a muslim?

Gravatar Anybody can vote, but they are only to vote once a day. Voting ends Tuesday at 12:00 PM CST.

There are no categories for non-Catholics because it was set up to specifically be a "Catholic" thing. Many of the nominees can be found in other types of blog awards, like the News awards, etc.

You may want to check Technorati or Truth Laid Bare to see if someone hosts a Muslim award.

Gravatar apparently there is a muslim award: city of brass crescent awards. their nominations are closed for 2005. i was founded in 2006 in anyway.

they have a category for best non-muslim blog. perhaps you should recpirocate =)

Huh? Filiis in the greeting must be in the dative (as are Episcopis, Presbyteris et Diaconis, etc.) Otherwise, the greeting, you'd have some sort of strange ablative absolute, which wouldn't make any sense. Also, the dative and ablative plural of filia is generally given as filiabus.

Otherwise, very funny "endorsement" from Papa Ratzinger!
