Yes, great night. Lots of wingnuts gone, though the big one is still with us.

Democrats have to start looking forward and not bury themselves in recriminination. The war was a big mistake, but it wouldn't have happened if a lot of folks weren't also suckered by Bush and Nader (remember him?)despite many warnings to stay away. I'm not a big fan of Ms. Clinton, but if she is nominated will certainly support her. People forget that there are many other issues on which the GOP has been a disaster: our civil liberties, the environment, healthcare and spreading the wealth to working people. We must get back to the big issues and not just who did what on Iraq.

Gravatar Rex from Tex:
I got negative feedback at the election party I attended for saying I would never vote for a Democrat who had supported pre-emptive war against Iraq. My argument is that such a candidate would likely be willing to wage pre-emptive war against Syria or Iran. Clearly, a lot of progressive people feel differently than I do on this issue. Time for me to rethink the issue.

Gravatar It's always dangerous to be a single-issue voter. Your position might mean that we get a right-winger who, like Bush, has made a hash out of environmental policies, health care for seniors, and our precious civil liberties. It also assumes a flat view of human nature. We can find many brilliant and successful people in American history who have made terrible mistakes, only to go on and do great public service. Think of Sen. Robert Byrd and Ted Kennedy. Think of the many white Southern senators, like LBJ, who became heros of the civil rights movement. I say move on. Like some of the people you dislike, start to see the light.
