Thanks for blogging about Katrina and the problems we continue to endure here in New Orleans. This was a huge, major storm that simply overwhelmed not only the ability of the community to recover and the emergency response, but also the federal hurricane protection system. Fundamental to any recovery is the repair and significant improvement of the hurricane protection system. No wonder people are slow to rebuild when the levees have not been upgraded--they have simply been rebuilt to their pre-Katrina level of protection. Would YOU feel safe here?
