How can one not enjoy and appreciate such beauty, Angel? The thing that strikes me about snow/ice formations is that they are so temporary and fleeting... like life and its' cycles.
Time is getting short and the 'Dying Season' is upon us (the end of winter and the death of my snow).
There is still over 10' in a secret place I go far from people and settlement. I have worked extra hours to free up my Thursday, for the weather is to break and it will be gorgeous. Spring sledding exploration, with its' mild temps and longer periods of daylight is the annual final cake frosting... and I will go feast.
Blessings to you, Sweet Lady.

Absolutely beautiful, breathtaking photos. I can understand why you don't want to share the precise location.
Best regards.

"Seeing people so caught up in the fervor over which might make the "best choice" illustrates to me how we ended up with such hollow, vacuous options. I find it impossible to remain "engaged" (DI)
I don't blame you or anyone else for feeling such foreboding and disconnectedness....the stakes are high and the choices are slim pickings.
Perhaps we need to go through a cleansing.
The last time we did that was about three decades ago, when Carter mismanaged the nation.
We are living through a tragedy of affluence. We (the post WW II generations) have lived softer, more spoiled, less challenged lives, free from any real oppression and so we imagine oppresssion in every single thing we don't like.
Soft-hearted, and softer-headed nimrods imagine the Bush administration as "the Fourth Reich." Nitwits like that deserve to know what real oppression is....I just don't like the idea of their weakness taking the rest of us along with them on that experience.
We may need to go through a cleansing....and perhaps it's better to face a relatively short-lived one now, rather than a more permanent one down the line.

beautiful photos, d.i.
my husband went to spend the night at our cabin - he said the forsythia, dogwood, bradford pears, all my bulbs and cherry trees are in full show! it's like a sea of color - i would have gone, but tonight was our son's first prom and one of us had to stay behind.
i don't mind - i've just been blessed by your post!

Hey cheer up, man.
I've been feeling the same way, but then I think back to when the big Al Gore was certain to be president after the Clinton debacle. I was really depressed then. I got over it. So will you. I was around when Nixon got in the copter and left. I saw Kennedy get shot. When you think things can't get any worse - well, they already have a long time ago. We'll be OK. We really are America. Your pictures prove that. We have just as beautiful country in the east. You just have to know where to find it.

Thanks ET. Coming from you that is truly a compliment!
ECI, I would share the location with a handful of appreciative people, but I also am cautious to generally make it known because too many might destroy it for some twisted form of "enjoyment". This way, at least more get to see what they would otherwise miss. I'm really glad you liked them... Thanks!
"we imagine oppresssion in every single thing we don't like."
JMK, you are always so well spoken and eloquent, but talk about hitting the nail on the head... Wow! Your words are so true! The cleansing should not have been necessary... but it is now, it is coming and it will be severe. Those who emerge on the other side of it will be freshly aware and stronger no doubt. As always, thank you.
Hi Nanc... I just saw the very first tiny little purple flowers emerging between the pockets of remaining snow in our yard this morning. The snow's death brings the birth of that which is green! I went for my last mountain sled ride of the year on Friday... still 6 to 8 feet of snow there, but getting across the brooks and rivers is becoming too challenging to go back. I hear the Fat Lady singing... Happy Spring to you!
Thanks for the comments/encouragement, Gunny. I HOPE that things will get better again someday. I do worry intensely about the massive tide of ignorance that is trying to sweep us away, though. Time will reveal the coming lessons. Thanks for your visit and kind words.
