I love that Movie.......I need to watch it again

It's mesmerizing. I was only going to have it on for a minute... and then I couldn't turn it off (again). Glad you love it, too!

Gravatar We have talked about this, so I won't reiterate here, except to say that the Hollywood movie studio is killing cinematic art. It is up to indie filmmakers everywhere to try and keep the flame burning.

Gravatar It's ironic and sad. The people with true talent and a real fire in their bellies for pet projects they've shed blood, sweat, and tears over... are the ones who have to beg for money to get their projects made. In the case of the film "Ray," it took Taylor Hackford 17 years to get the movie made. CAN YOU BELIEVE none of the studios would go for it? What idiots.

The studios have this enormous financial machine... and all they seem to put out is remakes, sequels, and adaptations of TV shows, comic books, and video games. There are plenty of brilliant, original scripts in this town, too. Unfortunately, the people with the power to greenlight studio films are all business-oriented. Are there any creatives among them?

Okay... I'll get off the soapbox before I hurt myself... Sorry. So, YES, you are right. It is up to indie filmmakers to keep good cinema alive. And in the meantime, I'll keep paying my rent by working on big budget VFX studio movies. HA! How ironic.

Gravatar I've never seen this movie, but have heard so many good things about it I may check it out.
This is a great blog, I'm checkin it out again.

Gravatar Hey, thanks, Maurice! Glad you stopped by. After you see Eternal Sunshine... come back and let me know what your thoughts were. :D We never close.
