Dana -- you are far too easy on the JFC -- pat on the back for slicing about $65k from the judiciary budget. (You obviously have a problem with the judiciary.) How much do you suppose will be cut from the DelTech "eating and restaurant" expenses of some $278k last year? It would be oh so interesting to be a fly on the wall when a DelTech official is called on the carpet to explain/defend those expenditures. Nearly $1,000 per day, six days per week last year! Oh well, it's only taxpayer money -- we can always get more if we want it.

The article says that is on top of an additional $286,000 in other cuts. So your math is off.
"(You obviously have a problem with the judiciary.)"
No, it's the branch I know best. I worked in it for 20 years.

I need to know more about that expense to register an opinion on it. But where there is fat, cut it out.

Did they propose cuts in travel costs for themselves? Or is the General Assembly exempted from this as well?

How many legislators have agreed to cut their salaries by the same amount they want to cut state workers? How many are willing to pay into the 100% free health care benefits they receive for them and their entire family?
We the public and especially you bloggers should start posting all the campaign contributions every legislator receives, so we know in advance whose dance card ticket they will punch.
Campaign Finance is the only remedy to remove the big business/insurance/big pharma/big chemcial/banks/credit card and developers from making sure the legislators vote with them, instead of with the citizens who elect them.
A Campaign Finance Bill has been in Dover for more than 4 years, dontcha think it interesting not one of them want to sponsor it? Freebies, giveaways, trips all will be handled by corporates, no matter how much travel they cut from the budget.
