Yup. The monument is in the graveyard on Water Street, just a block or so from Leg Hall. It has been tagged by the Sons of the American Revolution. An earlier generation tried to find CR and move him into the graveyard in Dover. They moved some bones, but there's a general understanding that they probably aren't his. The thought does count, though.

They have technology today that can detect differences underground indicative of a grave and some that can even pick up the outline of bodies and bones. We know where his farm was, so then what's the problem?
That it was tried before the technology existed is no reason not to try again.

It's certainly possible to find a great deal more than it was previously. But things are, I think, fairly well scrambled out there after the earlier digs.
Given our budget woes, is this something we really need to spend a great deal of money on? I agree that CR needs proper recognition, but is it really so important that his actual remains be found? Aren't they pretty much dust by now? The remembrance and honor are above ground and are already in place.

I heard a rumor years ago that the owner of the farm said he'd be happy to sell rights to CR's suspected resting place for an enormous amount of money.
