DELAWARE WATCH

Gravatar The problem is that we have genuinely reached the point where our system gives us nothing but politicians as usual in various garb.

As much as I am not a progressive in the definitional sense, I was really hoping in many ways that Obama would be one. I would still have opposed many of his ideas, but I would have been pleased to have been governed by a man with a real philosophy and some integrity.

Gravatar Thanks to Delawar Watch for publishing this piece. True progressives must speak with prophetic voice no matter who holds the office.

Gravatar Ultimate irony: Federal judges nominated by President George W. Bush rejecting arguments from President Obama's Justice Department on sweeping Presidential powers.

POLITICO covers this today in its article, "Bush-era judges buck Obama on terror".

I forgot whether your blog permits threads in the comments section, but here it is:

Gravatar We are not living in a democracy! We must wrap our minds around it. The international corporations, Pentagon, the shadow government are controlling every aspect of american life. It makes no difference what candidate is elected, once they are and take the oath to protect and support the Constitution~~their fingers are crossed. They immediately begin to dance to the tune of the campaign contributors, until that is changed we are all pissing in the wind and hoping. I am so dissapointed in Obama I could spit, but the blacks, moderates will never lift a finger to expose his hypocrisy. Unfortunately, the progressives are sitting behind computers blogging, and not organizing, mobilizing and marching for justice. The internet has killed all truly democratic movements. We watch as the Iranians stand against tyranny while we are living under one of the most tyranical governments on the planet, regardless of whose prez or whose party is in power. It saddens me my children and grandchildren will be living a life much worse than I did. Is this our legacy?

The unions sold out, the ministers (faith based) sold out. Community activists are reduced to a handful, and the rest sit back on their laurels blogging as if anyone gives a damn what they write.

Gravatar I, too, am disappointed in many of the recent decisions by President Obama. I expected better. Also, blogging, e-mailing, writing letters, making phone calls, protesting, they all matter and can make a difference.

Gravatar Sorry, I dont believe blogging, emailing or protesting is changing the mind of any politican. They do not work for the citizens, both parties are working for, and with the multi national corporations, the military industrial complex, the war machine and regardless who takes the seat...we the people have NO say...they are oblivious to the needs of the people.

Its time to throw them all out of office, city, county, state and national..we need a whole new deck of cards!

Gravatar Anon wants to take to the streets. You mean like the Tea Party movement? Yeah, that worked wonders. Throw them all out of office? Right. Like that has ever happened. Grow up. Just because you don't know how to work within the system doesn't mean the rest of us can't.
