Though in some ways the censorship in China can be a good thing for their citizens in the sense of keeping their jobs. In this country, American employers have so much access to the information of their employees that risk of termination always seems possible. But in China they've sidestep that problem, though at the cost of much freedom.

That would be the case if Chinese employers didn't have preferential access to the Internet v. their employees. Considering the notoriety of Chinese "crony capitalism" and the relentless drive for economic growth by the Party, I'm skeptical about that.
Besides, it's not personal information being censored. It's information that is embarrassing to the Party and maybe the PLA.
