Comments on the story were overwhelmingly negative, with some even saying that karma got her. They missed (or deliberately ignored) two key points.
Her husband was an LEO, one of the mighty, vaunted, always safe "Only Ones" who can be trusted with guns. With all the stories on the Net of cops getting it wrong, or being just plain rogue, I no longer consider them trustworthy.
They smugly said that her gun did not save her. Well, of course not. No gun would have saved her. Armed or not, she was dry-gulched by her "Only One" husband. (That means that she was ambushed without warning, for those who do not read or watch Westerns.)
Oh, well. I guess some people just can't think clearly in their smugness.

"He would ban the whole thing than to have "those people" be armed. This attitude is little different from Southern states passing laws to disarm blacks."
There's no difference between the people who disarmed blacks out of bigotry and the people who want to disarm the people who disarmed blacks out of bigotry?
The fact that you think the Confederacy and gun control are on the same moral plane is the reason many people favor gun control.
