I doubt Vineout wrote it. As soon as I saw who her press flack is, I was 99% sure of the author. I knew Andrew Werthmann in college. I despised Andrew Werthmann in college. I also spelled better than Andrew Werthmann in college. AW was raised on a commune and fancies himself as a leader in social justice. He has absolutely no sense of humor, is willing to lie if it helps expose "larger truths" and will always impugn his opponent's motivations. I want AW nowhere near any kind of power and am now seriously considering $$$ to the Brown campaign for the sole purpose of defeating a candidate who associates herself with him.

Well, Dennis....
Ummmm....
Yeah... I am going to have to go ahead and ask Kathleen to go ahead and move her desk down to storage room B.... yeah...
And I am going to have to take this stapler.

I think that has to be the worst press release (if you can even call it that) written by a campaign I have ever read. I agree with you that you have to read it for yourself to truly understand, but then after reading it...you are mad at yourself for wasting your time and brain cells to do so. Much like trying to have any meaningful dialogue with a Democrat.

Kathleen's flack is the same "worthless" Werthmann that filed to run in the 68th Assembly, couldn't raise more than $200, and fled Eau Claire. No wonder Ron is 11 points ahead in the polls, has a 6 to 1 advantage in money, and could Handy Andy be behind the alleged e-mails for Kathleen to school administrators on school e-mails (isn't that what Chvala got busted for, using state e-mails to campaign?

I wasn't a good candidate but not even I did something this weird. The weirdest thing I did was wish my opponent a Happy Halloween for pretending to be something he wasn't.
So Happy Halloween, Kathleen Vineout, as you pretend to be a candidate.

In the spirit of her literary ramblings I feel compelled to respond with 3 Haiku...
Eau Claire knows better
A Senator she can’t be
Thirty-first appears safe
Oh poor, poor Kathleen
Take your prozac, not maryjane
Please, please drop the bong
Bob's already drunk
It appears Kathleen is high
Oh, what a caucus

After yesterday's 4 page load of babble, and her less-than-engaged, likely distracted by possible illegal campaign activities by her hubby, and having the likes of Andy "I Hate Everyone" Werthmann, and treasurer Terry Stanley, who for those around that state that do not know her, is a former Eau Claire City Council member, and who was anti-everything, often the ONLY city council member to vote no, and was known far and wide as a public disgrace and embarrassment to city governance. Want another poem, Kate...goes like this:
Ron Brown is Red
Kathleen is Blue
Possibly illegal e-mails
Will put you in the stew
Maybe it's time to rethink this campaign.

Dennis, thanks for including the link to the article in the Shepherd Express. That made it easy to take in the latest Art For Art's Sake, only a couple of clicks away. One's perspective on artistic efforts is indeed subjective.
And for Stop The Gaga I have this question. Which is more embarassing, a press release written in verse? Or a charge of illegal campaign activity, made without bothering to verify that it was, in fact, illegal? The SEB's number is 608-266-8005 if you decide you need a clue. Nobody gets sent to the can for sending campaign materials through email. Not even Chvala.

Can you say: dosen't belong in politics?
Young master Andy needs to go help the downtrodden, an area where his skills are, but stay the hell out of politics, he has already proven in Eau Claire that NOBODY will support him, and as for his current "project"...Andy, run while you can, the good ship Vinehout is BADLY listing, and there are hundreds of us that are going to help it sink

Bob is dead on..Andy is wherever the "cause of the day" is, flapping his jaw, and saying very little that any correct thinking person wants to hear, let alone belive, then is all pissed off when anyone dares think differently than he, which accounts for everyone that was born with an IQ, and the ability to know the difference between serving the majority and serving the few that whine about everything...together Andy and Terry Stanley are a force to be treated with disdain, contempt, and outrage...no wonder that Vinehout's campaign is heading down the Mississippi faster than e-mails on school computers.

Okay people, I hope that was fun. Mind if an adult plays for a minute?
I started out helping the Vinehout campaign. I left because, well, I think she's an ass with poor judgment, K? I really, really do NOT want her to be elected. (BTW, I am quite far left so get yer little Red blood boiling over that)
Vinehout is bad news.
Some self-serving types deep within the party decided she is the one they want to have lunch with, greased her way, leaned on her primary opponent, and to hell with the democratic process. These people are aided and abetted by a local moron who is supposed to be neutral within the party, I wish he'd just just go somewhere far away, maybe join the Bush administration in stead of strutting around E.C. like a 2 bit J.R. Ewing. But my wishes are not often granted.
I hope y'all are happy with the workings of the Republican party because the Dems are in many ways FUBAR. So that's kind of a problem. But here's my point - could we have a little bipartisan effort here? Andrew Werthmann can do better than to be hanging out with the crew he has chosen, he really can, and I wish he'd get his head out of his ass - but he is a big boy now.
Point 2 - Andrew Werthmann has a sense of humor, and a brain too, if he wrote that thing he was dead ass drunk. How 'bout Maria Henley? It says "M". And I really doubt SHE has a sense of humor. Maybe a Vinehout cow wrote it. Oh yeah there are no Vinehout cows. Well...
Anyway, as to the campaign finance questions - contacting the SEB is not exactly a cure-all. Many oversight bodies do very little oversight, you should realize that by now. I would like some conclusion on the finance questions, but that is not to be. Some of us though, do not make excuses for everything our party does, some of us want the party to be a Clean, Mean Republican-Ass-kicking-Machine (that means you) and we think wheelin' and dealin' are drains on the party's energy and integrity (Ha! a party with integrity, shows how stupid I am)
Anyway, could you focus on defeating Vinehout? Not Werthmann? Seriously, my husband and I are voting for Brown this time (tho' we have dinner regularly with Che Guevarra and Cesar Chavez) because we want her defeated and hope a better Dem runs next time. But your focus on Andrew Werthmann is absurd and counter-productive. Portraying him as the Karl Rove of the Vinehout campaign seems hardly grounded in reality.
So please remember this is about bigger issues than your collegiate pissin' matches.
Thanks for letting me visit your cute Little Red Locker Room. We'll have to do this again sometime....
Go Brown!

"and to hell with the democratic process."
I if were in charge I would cancel the primary results and just appoint the guy that lost by a 2 to 1 margin. Democracy must be served. But I'm not in charge.

I find your attempt at wit confusing.
Never the less I will clarify my "to hell with democracy" remark.
When the insiders of a political party do any of the following they are fiddling with The People's Right To Choose -
1. Intimidate potential candidates.
2. Tell declared candidates that they should withdraw from the race or switch their campaign to another race that fits the higher-ups personal preferences. (Because party types feel primaries are a waste of money - too bad the Framers didn't realize that, huh? maybe they could have dispensed with the primary system and just let the goddam party choose from within their ranks. That is the current agenda you know)
3. Collecting union endorsements (and volumes of votes as a result) by under-reporting expenses to appear to be the "viable" candidate. That's cheating.
4. "Neutral" operatives who funnel staff away from the black sheep candidate to the one preferred by party operatives.
and so on.
All of those things put the wishes of the Party Clique ahead of the wishes of The People, the voters and like I said - to hell with Democracy.
Let's just pretend this is High School, we want to keep the dorks out, to limit access to the process so we can keep our own people comfortable. Let's act like we're campaigning for Prom King and Queen. It's Bullshit. You know it is.
And actually not that far from the type of self-serving thinking of dictators like - Saddam. So, thanks for the analogy. Too bad it didn't work out better for you.
Did you thinnk for a moment that this kind of behavior in front of the other party just makes the Dems look weaker? It's just bad all around. It's not strong, moral or just. it reflects poorly on leftist values and does not represent "our" goals. I am not a fool. I do not appreciate "my" party making "us" look like fools. I rise in oppositon to that action.
Okay?

Ha... Proved you all wrong.... good thing I didnt "rethink" being campaign manager and resort to being a quasi-prophet in order to spew bad political commentary at the back of the internet... to give an update: Senator Vinehout was elected, despite Browns massive dollar advantage (believe it or not folks, grassroots people based campaigns do work), and she now spends her time working for more affordable health care for everyone in the state of WI (see - Healthy Wisconsin)... just one of many campaign issues we campaigned on and she is now fighting for. Oh, and I didn't write the poem, I actually did raise $4,000 for my Assembly bid (in one month), and I do have a sense of humor. Thats why I decided to respond to your outlandish/idiotic statements more then a year after they were made...
