Gravatar Morning Denny. The last couple of times I have made pamcakes I have used a small container that has the mix in it. It looks like a small gallon of milk. Anyway you open it up and add the liquid and then shake, shake, shake ... shake, shake, shake ... shake your booty ... sorry, flashback. That has always worked for me.

So why not just add a little more milk or water on your own and try it again? Just do is a little at a time and I am sure you will be a flap jack fool before we know it. Well at least be enjoying a good breakfast.

Gravatar Morning Denny!

My pancakes ALWAYS come out perfect...because I get them at Denny's!

Seriously, it's been YEARS since I've even attempted to make pancakes. Besides, I'm more a "waffle" girl, myself...

Gravatar Morning Denny!
I heart pancakes. I buy the same stuff Barman does. It's good and easy. I'm about the LAST person you would ask for solve a cooking problem.
Stacy didn't marry me for my cooking abilities that's for sure!

Gravatar Denny, my best guess is the chlorine in the water. I'd suggest using bottled water or water that has been sitting overnight so the chlorine can evaporate. This is what I'm told by local chefs. The chlorine levels in tap water are not constant so sometimes it works out okay and other times not. Give it a shot.

Gravatar barman, I've seen that and was tempted... maybe next time I will. Thx

Gravatar Morning Stacy!
Damn, our secret is out. You know you've never had pancakes at my place!

Gravatar Morning Patti... okay, the little bottle of mix is on my list.

Gravatar Thanks Bud... ya know that makes sense. I'm gonna try that tomorrow morning!

Gravatar Good morning Denny,

the explanation lies withhin the flour. It depends on the sun etc. how much fluid the flour can bind. Like with any food there will be no 100% o.k. dirrections/mesurrments. So you should feel it while stirring

Gravatar Hi Mone! hmmmmm, that's interesting. Another way to try making them! Thanks!

Gravatar What??????

You read directions?????

(Males everywhere shudder)

Gravatar I think there is a special place in Hell for people who write directions. Especially the electronic ones lol.

Gravatar Barman has it solved for you.. play with the recipe until it is to your liking! I bought a waffle maker and bought the pre-mix and had the same problem. Those darn waffles just wouldnt come out right untill I added a little more milk/water and butter to the batter. Now adays I just head to the I-Hop and let them do the cooking..I/O

Gravatar Good afternoon Denny!!

I haven't made pancakes in forever, but I know what you're talking about. I used to add a little more milk to mine so they weren't so think. I think I too will try that shake bottle kind that Barman is talking about.......(if I ever decide to make pancakes again).

Jan

Gravatar I always use milk not water. But that was way back before I started going to IHOP.
