Morning Denny!
And it is SOOOO weird...I almost blogged about something similar this morning (but I had something that happened over the weekend so I blogged about that instead). I promise I'll go ahead and post it tomorrow...it's all ready to go and saved to draft!
Anyway, I couldn't agree with you more about this subjct. And honestly, I don't mind giving to immigrants ...as long as they're paying in JUST LIKE I AM. I pay my taxes and insurances, etc.....they should too.
What gets me is that I've been paying in and my parents have been paying in for YEARS....and when immigrants hit the shores *BAM*, it's like they're covered by Medicaid and Medicare and get food stamps and all kinds of help....and here's my poor mom, who has to fight and fight and FIGHT the system to get (or keep) the very minimal coverage she has (thru the state).
Really....you, REALLY don't want to get me started, do you? But it IS an excellent subject!

(I may not know a lot of spanish...but I know almost ALL the cuss words...
Unreal......

OK, lets take stock. First they broke into the country and are still here. Both are a problem. They are a drain on the services like hospitals, Medicaid, Medicare. They are again braking the law in that, being illegal, I am sure they do not pay any taxes and yet they expect police and fire fighters and medicine and... I think it is a no brainer. Close the borders and send the illegal people home. Maybe you work out some sort of amnesty thing for some but get them on the books.
Very good subject Denny. Have a great day.

Morning Denny!
I am with you 1000% on this one too Hon. Stacy and Barman too. Close the borders, send the illegal people home or make them legals and get them to pay some sort of restitution.
Not the convenience store managers, cab drivers or *gasp* cust service reps? How COULD they?
Gene Hackman is one of my faves. So sexy

Uhm... I hope you still like me Denny, but the first year or two I stayed illegal in the US. Till I found a way to get a work permit. Having met quite a variete of illegals over there myself I asure you that most of them would love to pay taxes and everything for the benefit of staying.
It is not the people whats wrong, its the system. ..
PS: You should see what legal immigrants from eastern europe are getting over here in Germany. Furniture, clothes etc. just for coming here. And there are a lot of germans who dont have that much themselfs. You see, our system is effed up too.

So with Stacy's POV there... we live here our whole lives, go thru hell to get even a morsel of help and the second, the second someone sets foot illegally in this country they're handed everything on a silver f*n platter....
The ones that actually try to go thru legal channels and all... those are the ones I have respect for, because it does take time... it's the ones that don't even try....
I could so go on on this for a while......

I think the problem is that people do not understand that Illegal immigrants have broken a law. Law beakers are supposed to go to jail and or pay a fine for breaking the law.
Since we have in De facto allowed illegal immigrants to work we must do something for those who have families and have been here for over two years. Naturalize them and start taxing them like every other American Citizen.
For those who have been here under two years, bye bye, and for those who enter illegally in the future, jail them, then depot them.
We do have to come up with better ways to issue work permits etc. I will work on that

My mother came across from Mexico. She like many migrant cotton farmer labor crews followed the work across the border because the West Texas farmers needed them and paid well...a win/win for both economies and both citizen groups.
The problem you address is one of government ineptitude with a wide cutting liberal path that originated with the New Deal and other following social policies.
Everyone rails against the Mexican, but the problem is liberal government programming that encourages illegal entry and falsification of status.
Reforming government is the key. Most humans when offered choice and control of their lives will choose what they consider the most advantageous way to protect and help the people they love.
This is very similar to 'affirmative action' where liberal policy also lead to dependence and disaster.
