I always get a little nostalgic over the 4th. Coming from a family where so many served in the armed forces. I grew up with a since of pride and patriotism.
My favorite times were as a kid, sitting on the back of the pick up watching the fireworks as the local station played the music....they had the greats - I wish I had a copy of that show (radio stations change so frequently I wouldn't even know where to start to find it) - there was never a dry eye while it played......not out of sadness but out of pride.
I will probably throw something on the grill with the neighbors and head down to the park to watch the show.

Denny the baseball I might go see is class A minor league. Seats are $7-$9 each (not including the fancy suites you can rent) and parking is $3 to $5 unless you want to walk a little ways then it is usually free. Food and drinks cost more than I like but less then the majors. All and all a bargin if you ask me. And the thing is, they go out of their way to keep you entertained. I mean when is the last time you have seen a hot dog canon?
hmmmm barman... now I wish I lived up there do I could see the hot dog canon... it's a lot better that the stupid hamburger canon I saw last year.

I finally got a new Flag to put out- hanging from my front porch, and wouldn`t you know - it started raining and I always bring it in when it rains. So, there it stands, leaning on the wall in my living room beside the door-wishing the rain would stop so I could hang it outside.
A Daughter had asked me what I wanted this year for Mother`s Day and I told her a larger flag to hang outside. I still have the old 10"x16" smaller one with only 48 stars on it. Bet you can guess how old it has to be now. I have a flower covered large braided wood wreath with a large 13" rabbit holding a flower pot sitting on it that another daughter gave me years ago and I added the 48 star flag to it so the rabbit is holding the flag. It always hangs in my kitchen window. So, that flag is up and safe from the rain. In the winter the rabbit wears a hat, scarf and red boots Being so old, I keep the flag in a window where the sun won`t fade it.
