100,000 People!!!!

Gravatar I suppose it is possible they are so backed up that there is nothing else they can do but you know, if that is the case then we should be sueing the heck out of them. Being under staffed was someones decision up above to save money I bet.

I have sat in ER before after being looked at for over 2 hours waiting to be discharged. All they had to do was look at things and send me on my way but did they? No and they could have freed up a bed. Of course I came in over night so they were not hurting for the beds as bad.

I think we need to look at our whole medical system and revamp it. They almost force people to seek treatment through emergency that have no business doiing so. Charging $20 and up for asprin. And much, much more. They really need to clean things up.

Now this case is so bad, allowing a lady to die that they were warned about. I pitty the hospital.

Hope you do not haev any more hospital trips for a while Denny. You used your up for the rest of the year for sure.

Have a nice day Denny.

Gravatar Morning Denny,
I have read this story in several different places. I am sure she was probably a habitual visitor at this ER and they just didn't think she was a priority. I don't know. It's very very sad. I know from visiting my local ER when the hubs had a kidney stone and getting a glimpse of some of the characters in there you probably do get sort of de-sensitized. *shrugs*

Gravatar I heard about this. And the hospital is about to lose it's credentials. I'm less about the employees and wondering who the hell is running the ship?

Gravatar barman... I have used all my time.

Gravatar yeah Patti... you do sure.

Gravatar Lisa... the guy running the hospital was fired.

Gravatar I heard that on CNN and couldn't believe it. The thought of someone lying in the middle of the floor dying in general makes me upset but dying on the HOSPITAL floor bothers me even more. What were people doing that was so important that they couldn't do their jobs?

It's stuff like this that makes people feel unsafe and panic. How many people are going to avoid the hospital and cause serious damage to themselves because of this incident?

I hate hospitals and this just makes me hate them more.

Gravatar Hey there ES... I know... then the part about the janitor mopping around her makes it even worse!

Gravatar Once a young high School lad passed out on a local baseball field and was rushed by ambulance to the hospital. Hospital checked him out, said he was ok and sent him home. This lad died at home a few hours later from a heart attack.
Things like this do happen more often than we would like to know about.
Reading about your seeing the guards and them not realizing you needed help make me wonder if guards, janitors and all hospital workers shouldn`t be required to have special training before they can work there. It could be a great help for a patients life someday. With what they charge, they should be able to swing it if they receive a little gov. help.

Gravatar Dot, that is an excellent idea!
