I agree they'd serve better use elsewhere! My town is so small, but I'll start looking for them now, lol!

What we DO have is the local TV news station doing "Speed Cam" reports once a week. A reporter hides on various streets and shoots a radar/camara at traffic and reports about drivers going 35 in 25 zones, etc. He isn't authorized to pull you over, but if you happen to be passing by, you get your car/face shown on the news, even if you're not speeding!

I get caught at red lights the old fashioned way.

While looking for apartments in Houston last week I went through a light that did not stay yellow long enough.

I was able to meet one of Houstons finest. He gave me a warning.

I hate the idea of those cams. I know they have them in Charlotte and Columbia and at the rate Florence is growing and the traffic, it won't be long before we get them here. Oh woe is me! :P

Honestly, I wish they had those cameras all over my tiny thug infested neighborhood.

But I know what you mean about big brother. This has nothing to do with cameras but I have nightmares about one day my boss coming to me at work and telling me they've been tracking ALL my internet usage while I'm on the clock. YIKES!

They started putting them in Florida, because the driving was so bad and there are not enough cops. People ran red lights regularly and other people were getting killed. Blame all those people out there who can't manage to care about safety.
