I'm so impressed that you are obviously implementing changes readers asked for. So many "surveys" today are nothing more than a foot in the door to sell something...I enjoy the newsletter and like the direction you are going. I'm posting the link to our Senior Citizen computer club forum.

I will speak to our computer man at work as he has Linux and sees many advantages to it - maybe he could write something for your newsletter.

More Vista/Less Vista
Yes, I know there isn't much new about XP, but there is a lot that we don't know. After 5 years of XP I find I learn some little thing new almost everyday and something major once or twice a month.
I read somewhere recently that 80+% of PCs today have XP and only 6% have VISTA. To me VISTA is a complete failure. Your reader base is mostly XP and your letter should reflect that.

Congratulations on the newsletter and survey; nice to know someone listens to their users (Hear that Intui & Microsoft). I have to agree with Tom about Vista though - too many problems with it and my broadband will not support it. Maybe sometime in the future. Thats my 2 cents worth!

Many "senior citizens or retired" people kept pace with this technology every step of the way or even created it. They do not need "articles on basic usage".

As a senior I have a bit of time on my hands and am now installing Ubuntu on a spare computer. When or if I learn a bit about it I will offer my thoughts on the benefits of using free software. Until then I will grudgingly continue to use W XP,but never Vista.

Regarding a site search, you might like to look at Zoom Search. It's free for small sites. I use it on a fairly large website, so it wasn't that cheap for me. But I've found it to be by the far the best site search engine I've used and worth every cent. Just Google "Zoom Search" to find it.

A nice summary of ideas from your readers. I use Windows XP and am somewhat reluctant to move to Windows Vista. Would definitely appreciate having the pros and cons for either remaining with Xp or moving to Vista explained. Thanks.

Dave, I want to apologize for not being able to forward comments/questions. A week after I inquired about your website, I was admitted to the hospital....yes, I have Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I was just released yesterday.
During the interim tho, my Husband would print out what you did write and to be honest; I personally think that your doing a TERRIFIC job with it. I love your articles, your surveys and there is NO need to send the newsletter out via mail. The way you have it now is perfect.
I have a stack of newsletters to go thru; but while I was in the hospital, I had a series of mini-strokes and the part of the brain that was affected was my memory. Therefore, I will have to print out everyone so that I can go back and re-read most of your items.
I am sorry that I have not contributed to your wonderful job your doing. But now I am on disability, but will try to get something out when I am able to (if there is any extra money that is).
Don't you worry about any of those people our there....you are doing a great job and I am sure that I will learn a tremendous amount of information.
Your fan and avid reader (soon, that is),
Maureen
