I've used Gmail for some time and have recommended it and offered many invitations to it. You no longer need an invite, though. You can go direct.

Dave, I find your recommendations useful and go along with most of them. The one strong reservation I have is with Kaspersky. I tried the full version as a six-month free trial install off a magazine cover disc(quite a common marketing method here in the UK). It successfully removed any virus I purposely introduced to try it out, BUT... after I started using it full time, it allowed itself to be corrupted and thereafter switched itself off around 30-60 seconds after each day's startup (or reboot) WITHOUT any warning message that the computer was now running 100% unprotected. This behaviour (both allowing any corruption in the first place, and then not telling me about it) is surely COMPLETELY unacceptable with any A/V product and I have never come across it with othe A/V software I have tested.
Unfortunately, I don't know what corrupted it, so I can't pass on a way to reproduce this unacceptable behaviour.

A good FREE photo editing program is "PHOTOFILTRE". (Better than GIMP, because it is EASY use.)

I love your recommendations but I find that the links don't work. I have to do a Google search to get to the web page. Is it because of my configuration?
