You can also put the sites to be blocked into the HOSTS file. There are freeware tools to help manage the HOSTS file, ie HostsManager, HostsXpert. Some AntiMalware packages have hidden functions that do it too, ie Hijack This!, SpywareBlaster (and I think Advance Windows Care Personal)
