Dave, Love your newsletter and read it as soon as it arrives. I run XP Pro, and I followed your advice about the Hosts file, but when I went to open the hosts file by right clicking and looked for "open with".......it wasn't there. I can right click on other files and find the "open with" option. I also know that if you hold down the shift key when right-clicking you should find the "open with" option, but that didn't work here either. Any suggestions?

This two part explanation is the best I read on the subject. Not being that knowledgeable about the registry, it has taken some of the fear out of it for me.
Thank you

Bill,
If you left-click the Hosts file the "Open With" dialog box should open up. Just scroll down to "Notepad", highlight it and click OK.
Make sure the "Always open ..." box is NOT ticked. Your Hosts file should now open in Notepad. Alternatively, if you right-click the Hosts file, just click on "Open" you will get the same procedure.

A note concerning uninstalling Norton. After running uninstall go to search and type in UNIS (UNINSTALL NORTON INTERNET SECURITY). Search all files and folders including hidden files. In some versions the uninstall operation can leave behind the uninstall files. I have had occasion when these left over files interfered with installing a new security program. If it has norton in the name delete it.
