I have been using the free version for a few years & have loaded it on customer's computers. No complaints.

Thanks a lot, Dave, for your tips on renaming files. Always before I got a notice that changing it might make the file unrecognized, or something to that effect. I didn't realize that I needed to put the extension on. Thanks, again. Frank Darden

I installed startup.cpl and it showed only 5 or 6 programs whereas task manager shows 44!which I know are to many..what am I doing wrong??

Chet,
Several programs actually install parts as services. Nero's library indexer comes to mind. There are also several tabs to take a look at in startup.cpl.
The 44 also contains many parts of windows, such as Svchost.exe, run32dll.exe, and others.
If you are down to 5 I think you've doing pretty well.
