If you are re-installing Windows, it's often a huge headache getting the basic Windows back up to par with all of the updates it needs.

If you are setting up a new PC away from home, having the appropriate AutoPatcher on CD is a real time saver.
Be aware that the AutoPatcher file could be 200 to 300 mb in size. It's best to have a fast connection to grab them.
