I am quite new at this computer thing, and am still learning things. Would this truecrypt be good for me? Also am not too young anymore and have to write everything down so I remember it all.

Used TrueCrypt for a couple years and switched to BestCrypt because you can encrypt huge capacity HD.

Dave, don't you find that having TrueCrypt disable the Windows paging file causes Windows to slow down?
If I have one complaint about TrueCrypt it is its insistence on disabling the paging file. I understand why it does, but performance can suffer on older machines.

Nihang - You're welcome.
Ruth - TrueCrypt is a bit geeky for most users who just need to encrypt a file or folder here and there. There's a program that's so simple, you won't even need to read the instructions: EncryptOnClick. Check out my blog post at: http://askthegeek.kennyhart.com/...mpler-
than.html
Kestrel - There are quite a few excellent encryption programs out there; TrueCrypt is certainly not a one-size-fits-all utility.
Ziggie - It's possible that TrueCrypt could create a performance hit on older machines, but I've never had a problem with it.
Home - Glad you liked the article. More to come.
Thanks, everyone for your feedback!
