Saw Hancock yesterday and I loved the first half of the movie. It's nice to see Smith doing a role where he's indifferent to violence and destruction. Yet he also managed to add lots of depth to his character. The angry Hancock was hilarious and I laughed out loud on several occasions. The prison scene and the scene with the bully..... good stuff!
What bothered me was the second half of the movie, and in particular, his relationship with Charlize's character.
Spoilers:

The relationship cop-outs of Hancock and Mary:
1. They never showed the actual kiss and they undermine the sincerity by having her toss Hancock across the street.
2. They die if they're close to eachother (are you kidding me). What's the overall message?!: I guess black men in proximity to white women can cause death?
3. Hancock and Mary were supposed to be married for Millenia but Mary abandons him after Hancock is mortally wounded (probably by rednecks considering the timeframe)and remarries "shortly afterwards". What happened to unconditional love?
Either the writers/directors were cowards and pulled a "Pelican brief" on us or Mary is a totally selfish beeatch putting immortality before love and abandoning Hancock. That's some old bullsh!!!!!!!!!

You're right there was a cop out on that movie when it came to exploring intimacy between the two (Smith & Theron)...the 2nd half of the movie loses adherence. We will get into a bit for tomorrow's Comic Shoppe show.
