Dburt,
Have you heard about a radio free speech bill being weighed in House of Representatives? The purpose of the bill, "Broadcaster Freedom Act (House Resolution 2905)," is to protect the First Amendment right of radio broadcasters to present their honest views on any subject. This act is necessary at a time that the most extreme members of Congress are trying to revive the "Fairness Doctrine," which would force broadcasters to air programs and views they disagree with, thereby harming real free speech. Conservative talk radio would really suffer as shown when the Fairness Doctrine was passed in 1949. (The doctrine was repealed under Ronald Reagan's term in office.)
You can learn more about the Broadcaster Freedom Act at the American Center for Law and Justice:

Hey Fred..yeah I know about the Fairness doctrine, many Rt wing radio folks believe its a way to "even the odds" UNFAIRLY to have left wing radio to be allowed a format...hence, AIR AMERICA....why this can't be used to expand Black radio remains to be scene. Will we ever see a urban alternative station?

Hello there,
Black people need to understand that there is NO SUCH thing as "black radio" unless it is wholly black owned...most of the radio stations that black people THINK are "black radio" shows are controlled by white factions...and this is why we hear what we are hearing and this is why the focus is on what it is on those shows.
Peace, blessings and DUNAMIS!
