Damn Gina.............................................

I just watched the entire movie and couldn't believe the Minstrel Show I was watching , how nobody on the WRITING STAFF or THE PRE-PRODUCTION or the people on SET didn't think there was a problem with these Racist Caricatures and stereotypes is disturbing.

I think the real problem is the lack of African American "behind the scenes" making decisions on the WRITING ,PRODUCTION ,and CASTING in these movies

If there where more African Americans behind the scenes these things wouldn't happen !!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know why we keep supporting the white mans Fantasy

Gravatar I don't think having black people behind the scenes would do any good. Black folks were in front of the camera when they made all those ignorant and pathetic hip hop videos. This is just the fallout from that garbage. Chickens coming home to Roost

Gravatar I have to concur with Frank. Besides one of the voice actors for the twin "negro-bots" is Black..in an interview he didn't think his portrayal was racist (I suspect his check cleared)...we have a culture that thinks this is fine. We're in trouble folks!

Gravatar We shouldn't be surprised that people are thinking these things about us either consciously or subconsciously. It's the way humans are wired to make sense of what they see. As patterns emerge, the brain begins to perceive them as representative of the larger group, until "exceptions" appear, which are quickly qualified as such (often to the offense of the listener). Remember the "he's very articulate" comments about Obama?

This is a very difficult topic to address because far too many of us have become comfortable with carrying ourselves and talking in certain ways, which, although we may think of them as hip or keeping it real, also have the double-edged sword effect of cementing negative stereotypes of us in the conscience/subconscience.

Gravatar As always good stuff. And yes, this film is profoundly racist, and also just a horrible film. But, there is humor to be found here. So what would a Black Cultural Nationalist 5 Percenter say about T2?

Gravatar Not to defend these coon-bots because they are definitely offensive. But their portrayal could be construed as simple caricatures of black/wigger persona's. Let's be "real" here: People who act like that ARE ignorant and probably CAN'T read.

I refuse to acknowledge that these stereotypes have any bearing on me or my race. Neither should anyone else.

Gravatar Correction with "black" I meant "hip-hop"
