That looks great. I'm always looking for good uses for pumpkin, because we always get so much of it this time of year! Thanks!

Awesome, I am sure to try this one. Thanks so much for the recipe. That is quite the story about the pumpkin pie. My friend from Australia came for a visit a few years back in the summer, and I made pumpkin pie because she hadn't had it before. She didn't dislike it, but said she would rather eat pumpkin as a vegetable. Here pumpkin as a vegetable gets a crinkly nose reaction out of people. Funny how different places have different tastes (and I am not at all fond of Vegemite).

I'm not a fan of pumpkin pie, either, but the one in my Fun Monday post I will eat.
I am SO going to make this soon (as soon as I get the birthday cake out of the house!)
Your Thanksgiving menu looks great, want a table crasher?

I've never made a cake using pumpkin and I've just been given one so I am tempted. However, I promised my friend I would make soup so I'd better keep to that~ and it's it's less fattening!

I tasted baked pumpkin fare for the first time the other day. Starbucks were giving away samples of their pumpkin loaf and I am on a mission to find a recipe just like it - I have the pumpkin in my pantry waiting! I'll have to try this out and see if it's close

I wondered where your post about traditions was. I love pumpkin bread and pie both! I have never had pumpkin soup, must try it some day. Thanks for the recipe.

Oh, and you know what I love to put in pumpkin bread? Dates...my goodness I love dates and this bread and pumpkin cookies is the only place I ever eat them. My kids don't like dates though. More for me, I say.

This recipe looks very good. I'll have to try it. You can never get enough pumpkin--unless it's pumpkin pie. (I hate pumpkin pie!) Na and I are making the pumpkin bread now and I will get that recipe up as soon as we are done. I wanted to include pictures of making it:o)

That looks really yummy, Deborah. I've actually never made pumpkin cake, other than the roll-up style. I'll try this very soon.
If you ever decide to try pumpkin custard pie again, just use the Libby's Traditional Pumpkin Pie recipe -- it's the best (and likely what your honey ate as a boy).

I'm just getting around to visiting the Fun Mondayers now...I know, I know, but hey, better late then never right?
Anyway, I'm not a fan of pumpkin flavored anything, but you made this sound good! Sounds like a good tradition to being!

that sounds so yummy!!!
can you use canned pumpkin-- or do you have to buy a regular pumpkin and cook and puree it?
and is icing sugar the same as confectioner's sugar or 10x sugar? I've never heard it called icing sugar before.

I am going to make this on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day (in the US). I will let you know how it turns out.
I have been reading your blog for a while and love it, but haven't ever tried anything.
