Catherine reminded me that our last meal there (over ten years ago) was poor and for many of the same reasons you give.
Amazing isn't it how mediocre places like this can survive for such a length length of time? It doesn't say much about the taste-buds of the average diner in Dublin.
Yeah Conor - it's a real shame. I was so looking forward to it too! Ended up getting Chinese later! 
I'll never forget some gawdawful swordfish I got there years ago: tough, dry and boney. Sorry to hear it hasn't improved in the meantime.
I wasnt impressed all that time ago and I didnt know half as much as you obviously do about Cajun cuisine. It just didn't taste good.

So perhaps I should open that soul food restaurant after all. I'm really disappointed and surprised that - I think - even I could do better than what was dished up to you. The authenticity in ingredients you mention is very rare indeed: perhaps we wouldn't pay what the real thing would cost, I don't know.
